Despite being famous for the pro teams training here during the off season, and the picture perfect climbs and descents, Mallorca has it all for all kinds of cyclists. Actually, that’s exactly why Mallorca is so great for cycling. There’s an endless number of great cycling roads and varied terrains, and this itinerary takes you across the whole island from South East to NorthWest, the easier terrain, and not a bit less picturesque. Mallorca as you wouldn’t imagine it. From the stunning beaches of the Santanyí coast, through the agricultural landscape of the Moorish farmhouses and windmills. Up and down the rolling hills and charming countryside of the Pla i Llevant (Eastern plains) wine country, into a traditional farmers market dating back to the 1300s. Up North towards the shadow of the Tramuntana Mountains, to the dramatic coastline of the Cap Formentor Peninsula… And did we mention historic buildings turned into awe-inspiring modern designed hotels and spas, great local wine, and an effervescent local gastronomic scene?
In the SouthEast of the island lies Colonia Sant Jordi, a touristy hub surrounded by the intriguing landscape of the Es Trenc salt flats, and the charming villages of Ses Salines, Es Llombards and Santanyi. A great spot to explore the Moorish influenced landscape of the Southern region of Mallorca and the great views up the Cura and San Salvador Monastery, a couple of the classic climbs of this region of Mallorca.
We will meet you at the airport or at your pre-trip hotel and transfer to Colonia Sant Jordi (40 minutes) where we will meet you review the itinerary, have a safety and logistics briefing, bike fit and hopefully, depending on the time of your arrival, go for a quick 20 Km loop ride around Ses Salines and Colonia Sant Jordi for a cold cañita by the sea.
Today you’ll have different options to ride around the South East corner of the island. Along the way you’ll ride by petit boutique-like villages like Es Llombards, Ses Salines and Santanyí. You’ll head towards the coast down to the picturesque fishing village of Cala Figuera, tucked between the rocky cliffs, Mediterranean pine trees and fig trees at the end of the fjord-like Bay of the same name. A paella or seafood tapas stop is recommended here, before you ride back up to Santanyí and to your hotel. Longer options include a detour to enjoy the views at Cap Ses Salines, the Southern-most tip of Mallorca.
Ride: 40-60 km with 270-400m climbing.
Right in the heart of the Mallorca you will find the Pla I Llevant, or the Eastern Plains regions. Although not exactly plain, this area is where the first vines were grown back in Roman times and covers the eastern area of Mallorca, from Algaida to Felanitx to Arta. From here you will have the chance to ride up to Cura and Sant Salvador Monasteries, if you’re felling keen on the riding, or go visit some of the best wines on the island.
Undulating plains.
You’ll start heading North today from the South Coast up to the middle of the island along a charming countryside into the heart of Mallorca. The two route options take you along an easy undulating terrain through the many vineyards and almond orchards of the Pla i Llevant region, where you’ll be able to appreciate a change of landscape from the more arid and plain South East to the more green covered hill countryside around Algaida and Montuiri. You’ll ride into Finca Serena, where you will be able to sit back and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this Mediterranean jewell.
Ride: 36-58 Km with 250-500m climbing.
Plenty of riding options today. From heading towards Sineu, only 10 Km away, to wander around the weekly farmers market which has been taking place every Wednesday since the early 1300s, to a more challenging route up one of the classic climbs on the island up to Cura Monastery for one of the best views around, you can mix both routes if you want a bit of a challenge and a bit of cultural immersion. If it’s not a Wednesday and you prefer an easy ride and some wine, we can arrange a super fun ride along the Binissalem Wine country stopping for a visit and wine tasting with finger food lunch at the oldest winery in Mallorca, Ribas winery.
Ride: 35 to 55 km with 200-850m climbing.
Pollensa it’s a lovely town with a rich history of artists, plenty of options for dining and some cool shops with local brands and products. It’s location is the perfect starting point for the ride to Formentor Ligthouse, one of the classics of the island, as well as Sa Calobra, and Coll de Sa Bataia, a good variety of Spanish and international food restaurants, and many good little corners where to sip a “cafecito” after your morning ride. Good place to get our guests favourite souvenir, a Mallorca-themed cycling jersey.
To the North.
You’ll ride straight towards the Tramuntana Mountains and then turn NorthEast, following its foothills along charming villages like Binissalem, Biniamar, and Selva where an epic lunch at one of our favorite restaurants on the island, Miceli, awaits. If wine is your call, we can also plan a great visit to Can Axartell winery near your hotel, one of the most modern and innovative new wineries on the island.
Ride: 50 km with 400m climbing.
After 5 days of riding, today is probably a great day to stay off the saddle. Maybe indulge yourself with a full day of relax at Son Brull, including some treatments at their amazing Spa. Plan an easy day at the beach in Cala Sant Vincent, or go check the shopping scene in the quaint town of Pollensa. If you want to be active, an easy ride towards Alcudia walled city would be a great ride, or we could plan some amazing hiking nearby. Just make sure you charge your batteries for tomorrow’s ride.
One of Mallorca’s iconic cycling routes and in the bucket list of many cyclists around the world. With amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea, it’s a constant up and down, twists and turns which take to the most Northerly point in Mallorca. An early start is recommended to avoid most of the traffic. After coming back from the Lighthouse, we suggest you take a detour to beautiful Cala Sant Vincent for a great sea food lunch by the sea. 65 Km with 1000m climbing.

Beth Maloney2023-11-22Alfonso and Helena were so accommodating for Dan an I. We had a passport delay that required a month delay for our trip and Mills and Honey rescheduled the whole trip with ease. The hotels to restaurant reservations were fabulous. The bicycles and guided app were exactly what we needed to cycle independently but they were always a text or phone call away to assist. We would highly recommend this cycle company . Would love to come back and do it all over again soon.Bill Wright2023-11-22Majorca is an amazing cycling destination. From start to finish, the experience in Mallorca was filled with exciting bike rides, a taste of local culture and a stay at a lovely seaside hotel. We appreciated the expert biking support along with the high quality bikes. We cannot wait to explore with Mills and Honey again soon.Casa Berliner2023-11-02Mills and Honey After researching and talking to three cycling agencies that handles cycling in Mallorca, I knew I found the best company that is Mills And Honey. From day one of my communications via email and Whatsapp with Alfonso, I sensed his extensive knowledge of Mallorca’s many cycling destinations. We were a group of 10 who were very impressed and so WOW-ed by the entire cycling package! Accomodations were topnotch! Service, SAG, quick reply at the beck of our calls, the quality of our bikes and his wide network in Mallorca were key factors. His staff were highly experienced guides (Helena, Conrad and Marc) who made us felt safe and protected on the road everyday. Mills and Honey customized our daily activities and added the extra work of planning some lunch and dinner reservations for us plus a few hours of beach time. They might have ordered the best weather too because our sunny week was the object of envy. To Alfonso and Helena, we are coming back!!!! From Team Berliner. ( Renee)drewbob2023-10-26What a trip!
